Little Love

Shall we wake? Shall we wake? Little love, little love
While our dreams are still fresh in our heads?

Then we'll wash, and we'll scrub, little love, scrub a-dub
All the sleeps that our eyes made in bed.

We should pray, we should pray, little love, God above
To Jehovah we'll thank for this day.

Then we'll dress, and we'll eat. Pick your clothes. I'll make treats.
Get ready for work, and for play.

Time to play! Time to play! Silly boy, lots of joy.
Makes a mess, of all sorts of things.

Let's clean up, silly boy. What a mess! Let's clean up.
Then I'll read to you, or I'll just sing.

Till you sleep, till you sleep, in my arms, little love
Then, you'll realize that you've gone to sleep.

"What'd I miss? What'd I miss?" Is your thought when you wake
Wide-awake, is how you try to keep.

Let's go out, let's go out, little boy, let's go out
Let's go for a ride in the car

To the park, or the store. Take a walk, or a tour
We will make sure we don't stray too far

Must get home, before Dad! Don't want to make him sad.
He needs dinner, and family there.

When he walks through the door, he gets down on the floor
You're a snuggling and wrestling pair.

He's at home, so are we. With you son, we make three
In our family, our love, we will tend

You'll be grown up one day. How will you get that way?
Do the same things tomorrow, again.

I really really like this poem because it conveys your heart quite clearly. It would make a nice present for people w/ children. Actually, it would make a lovely children's book...w/ illustrations & everything!
