The Cost of Zzz's

Today, I realized that we have been sleeping on the wrong side of our mattress for a whole year.

I thought we were not sleeping as well, because we have a baby. I figured that's just one of the things you give up when you have kids.

A few weeks ago, Shanna let us test out her memory foam bed. We were thinking it was so nice, because you didn't feel springs on your back, and actually felt soft. That was going to be one of our first purchases when we get out of debt.
Since I'm painting the bedroom, we slept on the floor in the living room last night. I woke up refreshed, because the floor was so much more comfortable than our bed.

Then I realized that our mattress has been upside down all these months. Before I went in to labor, we had put the mattress in a rubber sheet in case my water broke. We must have flipped it over, when we were removing the sheet, right after the baby was born.

So now, it's like we have a brand new bed for free.

Dang Quesadillas

Eve told me that the tortillas at Trader Joe's are really good, and she's right! I got the sundried tomato tortillas, and just figured out what to do with them. Quesadillas.

This is what I did:

Cooked ground turkey with minced garlic and spices in a pot
Saute'd chopped green peppers and onion.
Put a tortilla in another pan with butter and shredded cheese on top
Added the cooked turkey, peppers and onion
Shredded more cheese on that
Tortilla on top, and flip.

TJ's also has other flavored tortillas. They're not all hard and thick like the ones at the grocery store. They're even good to eat plain.

Consumer says

Let's compile our shopping experience on this post! Here is my list of products I recommend. In parenthesis is the name of the person who told me about each item. Respond with your own recommendations, and why you use them.

Oral Hygiene: OraMd www.oramd.com (shanna) This is all natural and heals your gums. You don't have to rinse. It's painful though. That's how you know it's working.
Sonic Care electric toothbrush. You'll never want to go back to a regular brush after.

Makeup: Bare Escentials (Eve & Mom) About the same price as counter makeup. Natural minerals that are actually good for your skin. You can sleep in it, and your face won't get gross.

Wireless Router: Apple Airport. (Pete) I feel strongly about this one. Plugs right into the wall, cord goes into your modem, and bingo, Wireless house. When something goes wrong, I unplug it, and plug it back in again, and my problem goes away. Has some music feature that I haven't tried.

Shampoo/Soap: Trader Joe's Castile is perfect to make your hair behave. Your hair will go nowhere, without feeling heavy from product.

Juicer: Solostar 2 www.sproutman.org This is easy to clean up, as the juicer is just parts that attach to a motor that spins. It is a slow juicer, so you get more nutrients. Comes with attachments to make sherbert and speghetti.

Kitchen Appliance: Vitamix (John H) Blender on steriods. Make soup, ice cream, peanut butter, shakes, salsa, flour out of grains, bread dough, soy & rice milk and more!

Grocery Store: Giant Eagle Gas perks, scan your own prices, awesome vegetable section. Large organic section. Their Sushi is actually good, at grocery store prices
Trader Joe's (Amber) for large cheese variety. Try new things that you would not have, at a reasonable price. The brand's they choose are usually excellent. Avoid their own bran muffins, sushi.

Little Love

Shall we wake? Shall we wake? Little love, little love
While our dreams are still fresh in our heads?

Then we'll wash, and we'll scrub, little love, scrub a-dub
All the sleeps that our eyes made in bed.

We should pray, we should pray, little love, God above
To Jehovah we'll thank for this day.

Then we'll dress, and we'll eat. Pick your clothes. I'll make treats.
Get ready for work, and for play.

Time to play! Time to play! Silly boy, lots of joy.
Makes a mess, of all sorts of things.

Let's clean up, silly boy. What a mess! Let's clean up.
Then I'll read to you, or I'll just sing.

Till you sleep, till you sleep, in my arms, little love
Then, you'll realize that you've gone to sleep.

"What'd I miss? What'd I miss?" Is your thought when you wake
Wide-awake, is how you try to keep.

Let's go out, let's go out, little boy, let's go out
Let's go for a ride in the car

To the park, or the store. Take a walk, or a tour
We will make sure we don't stray too far

Must get home, before Dad! Don't want to make him sad.
He needs dinner, and family there.

When he walks through the door, he gets down on the floor
You're a snuggling and wrestling pair.

He's at home, so are we. With you son, we make three
In our family, our love, we will tend

You'll be grown up one day. How will you get that way?
Do the same things tomorrow, again.

Accountable

This life is all mine
And I made this rhyme
There's bad parts, I knows
But, it's what I chose
Will be worth it in time

I'll go with my incline
Or I'll stretch, groan and whine
Make my highs and my lows
This life is all mine

There is a straight line
'tween what I want, and what's mine
Who cares where I grows
Circumstances impose
but, this life is all mine
